Designing portable buildings for disaster relief

Portable building manufacturer Humanihut engaged Ekium to design multi-use huts for the South Australian State Emergency Service to use in natural disaster relief.

Using Solidworks 3D, Ekium developed concepts and design solutions to develop a foldable rigid hut system and communal bathroom facilities.

Providing full design support through the project lifecycle, including concept development, design, manufacturing drawings, redline markups and reviews and product lifecycle management.

Ekium produced accurate 3D models for visualisation and design reviews in Virtual Reality, delivering timely design refinements as the project progressed. Animations and hi-resolution images of the 3D models were also developed to assist product roll-out.
