Concept design and 3D modelling for new medical lasers

Ekium’s service offering in the medical sector includes concept design, detail design and manufacturing drawings for tools and products.

Ellex designs and manufactures innovative ophthalmic hardware. The company engaged us for design support with manufacturing drawings and 3D modelling for the development of new medical lasers and a laser module assembly station.

This included Bill of Materials drawings, with a comprehensive list of parts, items, assemblies, documents, drawings, and other materials required to manufacture the lasers and assembly station.

We supported Ellex over a six-month period across three key phases. This included modifications to an existing 3D model and capturing the changes in manufacturing drawings; various 3D modelling tasks and design documentation and concept design to resolve pre-existing assembly difficulties.

The chosen concept was then refined and developed for manufacture in Australian and global markets.
